Times are extremely weird right now, and I think we are all trying to do our best to keep things as “normal” as possible. With things looming that cause major anxiety - like illness, pay cuts, job loss, etc.. it’s a stressful time. My day to day work/life is nothing near what it was. It has been an adjustment for sure, but I feel grateful for my health and trying to find things at home that calm me. I wanted to share just a few small things that help keep me a tiny bit sane and even help with keeping a routine. The fact of the matter is, while we are in a really strange and sad time of our lives..sometimes the little things can help keep your mind just a bit at ease.

  1. Organizing: When in doubt, organizing keeps my mind at ease. I recently purged my closet and literally felt like I had a weight lifted off of me. Sticking to more basics, neutrals & things that I find myself grabbing for more often. If I haven’t worn it in the last year or so, it’s gotta go. I already forgot it was all there! Also, pantry organizing is a must. This is something I’m going to keep working on - still a work in progress! I have linked some of my favorite pantry & closet organization items here.

  2. Making The Bed: There is something about starting off the day with making your bed. If I walk back into my room and my bed is a disaster, it just puts me in a funk. When I make my bed first thing, it just begins my day in a positive way and helps me feel clean and I am more likely to be productive. I linked my bed frame and sheets here.

  3. Burning Candles: I think we constantly have a candle or two lit in our house. It just makes me cozy and the smell is so good. My favorite are the Anthropologie candles. So relaxing and nice to have burning when I’m working. Also, if you don’t have these, I linked my 2-piece wick trimmer and candle snuffer here. These are must haves for helping your candles burn evenly and look really nice on your coffee table!

  4. Ice Rolling: There are tons of benefits to ice rolling. I feel like when I do it after I’ve had on a facemask or put on a serum, my face is just awake and in heaven. It helps with lymphatic drainage, reduces redness from breakouts and is great for anti-aging. It also helps shrink the size of your pores, which I know I need all the help I can get in that department. I use this ice roller and just store it in the freezer for my next use.

  5. Slippers: Nowadays, all I wear are slippers. I have 2 in the same style because I wear them so often now! Not only are my feet cold 24/7 but I feel like my at home lounge outfit is not complete without them haha. My favorite slippers are these Amazon best sellers and they are so comfortable - I have them in white and leopard print.

  6. Reading Other Blogs: Reading other blogs + websites is always a great way to stay informed, help stay motivated and get ideas! A few different sites I have been loving lately are:

    • For Everything - The Every Girl

    • Fitness/Health - Lauren Kay Sims

    • Healthy Recipes - Cella Jane

    • Skincare/Products - Somewhere, Lately

  7. Creating/Browsing Inspiration: Pinterest is probably my biggest source of inspiration - I will browse it everyday looking for style and home inspiration, but it’s also nice for positive affirmations, healthy recipes, workout ideas, DIY projects + more. You can click here and pin with me!

  8. Reading: This is a huge way for me to relax. Diving into a good book or article helps keep my mind off things. I am really into murder mysteries and love stories. A few easy reads I love are:

    • The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand → shop

    • The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin → shop

    • I’ll Be In The Dark by Michelle McNamara → shop

    • Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler → shop

    • The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty → shop

    • Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins → shop

    • A Stranger In The House by Shari Lapena → shop

  9. Blue Light Glasses: My all time favorite Amazon blue light glasses make staring at screens all day much easier. Plus they are cute. No headaches over here.

  10. Cleaning: Last but definitely not least, cleaning. Sometimes I just get into this space where I will deep clean everything and I feel so much better when I do. I use this cleaner for most surfaces and I love the smell!
