Planning Our Back Patio

1. Black Modern Outdoor Wall Lantern: One way to really transform your outdoor space it by updating your lighting. We went with this sleek and modern black outdoor sconce. Our current lighting on our front porch is dated, rusting and just ugly - these will elevate everything so we got 2 of these. We will be putting one on the front porch by our front door and we just installed our other one by our back door near our patio.

2. Southport Patio Egg Chair: Pretty sure this chair has gone viral on social media. I love the coastal/airy vibe it gives off. This exact chair is the one I have my eye on at Target but there are other similar options at Walmart + Wayfair. I linked the exact one and similar options below.

3. Outdoor Natural Pendant: These woven pendants are a dream!!! I have similar ones from Ikea but they are just the basket; no light. I plan on doing a tutorial about how I will be threading and securing the light to the Ikea hanging baskets but I also have linked these target pendants that are almost identical and don’t require the work! We plan on hanging these in the back corner of our yard to create a space that is really inviting and makes you want to spend a lot of time out there.

4. Faux Concrete Indoor/Outdoor Accent Table: This side table is sleek and sturdy. With Indiana weather you just don’t know what you’re going to get so we didn’t want tables that could just up and blow away. Linked the exact one we are looking at and others with the same vibe.

5. Metal Outdoor Lantern: These just add so much character to an outdoor space and really tie it all together. There are tons of places you can get these huge candle holders for a great deal! This particular design is from Target but I have linked similar/other options I’m looking at below. When it’s warm out, we also got large faux candles to put in them so they don’t get messy!

6, 7 & 12. Faux Plants + Planters: Unfortunately I do not live on the west coast so I don’t get to have cute plants like this…but we are gonna fake it ‘till we make it. Below are some of the faux plants I have my eye on + cute planters for them.

8. Reusable 12x12 Inch Template Stencil: So I am going to attempt to DIY faux tile on our steps down to the backyard. I love the Moroccan tiles but we aren’t going to be doing those anywhere so I am opting to paint my dream tile on the concrete steps! Will show my finished product once my stencil comes in and I get started!

The exact tile stencil I bought from amazon:

9. Outdoor Throw Pillows: I plan on getting a few of these for the 2 chairs for the patio and also for the couches we either plan to buy or DIY ourselves for the back portion of our backyard around the (hopefully) fire pit. Tons of options on World Market, Target, Crate & Barrel and Amazon.

10. Light Brown Eucalyptus Segovia Outdoor Occasional Chair: I got 2 of these for our “conversation” chairs portion of our patio. I got them 40% off with World Market’s 40% off outdoor sale! This set sells out SO fast so hop on it quick - if they are sold out make sure to sign up for a restock email! I linked the chair we got (2) + also the whole collection below.

11. Diamond Pixel Black Outdoor Rug: An outdoor rug is a must for me. It just makes the space that much more welcoming. Drinking coffee outside with no shoes on without it being just rock..that’s the vibe I’m wanting. I like the darker option because of dirt but there are some really cute colorful/lighter options too.

13. Outdoor Black Metal Chimnea: (skipped 12 because it’s already been addressed) I love how modern this looks! Plus it has zero risk to not work since it’s just wood burning. I linked modern gas options we are looking into as well, but this one is more affordable and more reasonable especially for our first home!
